Total Restoration In Progress:
A preliminary cleaning is now performed to remove as much old varnish, dirt, mold and mildew as possible prior to the lining process.   It is important to remove as much of the dirt as possible prior to lining since the heat involved in the lining process can have the effect of "setting" the dirt stain permanently in the face of the painting.
